Quad Safari
For today, we had planned a special adventure—a quad safari.
Soon after breakfast, we were picked up from the hotel by a minibus. Over dusty roads, we ventured deep into the hinterland of Alanya.
Eventually, we arrived at a large area where a quad course had been set up. The exciting vehicles were already waiting for us there.
First, we received a safety briefing and had to sign a form.
Then we were finally allowed to take a seat on the quads. Since I don’t trust myself to drive such a vehicle, I was a passenger. My partner has been riding heavy scooters for decades and has the appropriate driver’s license, so he was experienced with similar vehicles.
First, we did some laps on the course, practicing handling the machines and especially the correct braking.
Then we headed out into the open terrain.
The track led over roots and stones, and we were repeatedly photographed along the way.
At a café idyllically located by a rushing creek, we took a break. The ice-cold drinks were very welcome.
Then we continued. At high speed, we drove through puddles of water, and to increase the dramatic effect, we were sprayed with hoses.
Water splashed high, no part of our bodies remained dry or clean. But that was exactly what made the charm of this adventure.
Far too quickly, the spectacle was over again.
In the early afternoon, we were back at the hotel, where we quickly showered and then treated ourselves to lunch at the restaurant’s rich buffet.
We spent the afternoon relaxed by the pool. Of course, my book and air mattress were with me again.
My partner devoted himself to bocce and darts, which he always did when time allowed.
I cannot imagine a more cozy day.
The evening went like all other evenings. A perfect ending to a perfect day.
